Introduction to The Zone Diet

The Zone Diet basically states that your meals should be built around protein. Protein should represent (by calories) 30% of your meal. Carbohydrates are 40% and 30% should be fat.

Typical diets are 70% carbohydrates, 15% protein and 15% fat. The problem with low fat/high carbohydrate diets is that they do not control hunger. Although we won't go into the detail of how carbohydrates/sugar/insulin cause this, suffice it to say that the Zone Diet if properly followed has the wonderful benefit of just about eliminating hunger.
